On Saturday May 3rd Team Marty pickleball players gathered at Dinkers Pickleball Club in East Rochester to play pickleball, eat great food, win exceptional raffle prizes and have a day of fun. We started with a coed scramble and then moved on to men’s and women’s beginner and intermediate levels. Throughout the day food was donated by Salvatore’s Pizzeria, Dinosaur BBQ, Mark’s Pizzeria, Leo’s Bakery and Kitty’s Kakes. 69 businesses participated by monetary donations, gift cards, raffle prizes, the gift of time. Personal donations generously added to our totals. Old friends made new memories, new friends made new connections and best of all we raised $8900.00! Words cannot express our gratitude for everyone who supported our cause. I am exceptionally thankful to the committee who pulled it all together and to Dinkers staff for your work leading up to and especially on FUNdraiser day to make it all run so smoothly!
Line Dancing Take 2
On Thursday, May 22 we again took to the floor at Country Roads Bar in Fairport for an evening of Line Dancing Instruction. We ate, we drank, we laughed. Some of us actually are getting better and then there are those of us(especially me) who know we would never make a living dancing! In the end we raised another $600.00 for Team Marty and the true winners are the researchers at Wilmot Cancer Center. Thank you to all who came out to support our cause and had some fun doing it!
Line Dancing
We kicked off the 2025 Team Marty Season with a donation-based Learn to Line Dance Event. A blizzard raged outside but 28 participants braved the storm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, to come to Country Roads in Fairport to learn how to line dance. It was an evening full of laughter and learning. We raised $970.00. Although most agreed we would never make a living line dancing we had fun learning some moves and enjoyed a snowy winter evening with friends.
